Suppose time is a circle ...
Just last night the 2010 Creative Loafing Best of the Bay Awards were unveiled at the same time that we were putting up the preview performance for the first show of our new season (and while our Halloween show was in rehearsal on the other side of the building). Congrats to all the winners, including those from our 09-10 ensemble. Jobsite and our artists were well-represented in the theater category:
- Most Consistently Surprising Actress - Meg Heimstead (Dead Man's Cell Phone, Dog Sees God)
- Reader's Poll Best Theater Company Runner Up - Jobsite Theater
- Reader's Poll Best Local Theater Production Runner Up - Pericles
- Reader's Poll Best Local Actress - Alison Burns (And Baby Makes Seven)
- Reader's Poll Best Actress Runners Up - Summer Bohnenkamp-Jenkins (boom!, Dead Man's Cell Phone, Dog Sees God), Meg Heimstead (Dead Man's Cell Phone, Dog Sees God)
- Reader's Poll Best Actor Runners Up - Steve Garland (Dead Man's Cell Phone), David Jenkins (What the Butler Saw)
"Suppose time is a circle, bending back on itself. The world repeats itself, precisely, endlessly."
Einstein's Dreams fictionalizes Albert Einstein as a young scientist who is troubled by dreams as he works on his theory of relativity in 1905. The work explores the dreams about time that Einstein had during this period. Each dream involves a conception of time using a versatile ensemble of nine actors.
Season tickets are still available for $117.60 per person for all six shows, or you may upgrade to season tickets after the run of this show for just $98.
Here is our teaser video:
Don't forget that students, senior citizens and members of the armed forces can get $10 rush tickets as of half an hour before any show from the window with cash and a valid ID.
Our 2009-10 season was noteworthy on many levels - our Off Broadway premiere (Pericles), our highest-grossing and best-attended mainstage series to date, increased programming on our second stage, close to 400% growth in our private contributions over last season - which was our previous record year.
We continue to grow because of the dedication of our artists and the support of our community. We hope that you can be a part of the beginning of our new season and what's hopefully once again our best year to date. We're just honored to be here.
